Mohanlal has watched Ajay Devgn's Hindi film Drishyam: The Conclusion. He praised how it closes the story.

What Mohanlal said
In the video, Mohanlal said, "I am truly impressed with the way they have brought much loved journey to a befitting end."
He congratulated director Abhishek Pathak and producer Kumar Mangat Pathak. He also congratulated Ajay Devgn and the full cast and crew.
Why his view matters
Mohanlal is the original Georgekutty. He has played the role in all three Malayalam films by Jeethu Joseph.
The Hindi films began as remakes of those originals. The third Hindi part does not follow the Malayalam story.
So this is the first time the Hindi franchise has gone its own way. A nod from the original lead carries weight for that choice.
Ajay Devgn had invited the reaction himself. At FICCI Frames in Mumbai, he said he had called Mohanlal to ask him to watch it. The Hindi story had moved away from the Malayalam one, so Devgn said Mohanlal's approval would be nice.
Two Drishyam 3 films in one year
Mohanlal's own Drishyam 3 released worldwide on May 21, 2026. The date was his birthday.
The Hindi film followed on October 2, 2026. Ajay Devgn plays Vijay Salgaonkar, the Hindi counterpart of Georgekutty.
Both films come from the same idea, but they now tell different stories.
The Drishyam franchise so far
Jeethu Joseph's first Drishyam released in 2013. Drishyam 2 followed in 2021.
The Hindi versions starred Ajay Devgn as Vijay Salgaonkar. The first two retold the Malayalam plots for a Hindi audience.
The franchise has also been remade in other Indian languages. Few Malayalam stories have travelled this widely.
