What SonyLIV has confirmed
The SonyLIV page lists the film as a 2026 comedy drama in five languages with a 16+ rating. Its official synopsis describes the film as inspired by Adhi's own life and follows Jeeva, a spirited gaana singer who wants to take his street music to the global stage while dealing with social barriers, his own flaws and generations of unfulfilled musical dreams in his family.
The November 6 date was also reconfirmed by Times Now in its list of South Indian OTT releases for the week of November 3 to 9. The outlet reported that Adhi plays multiple roles across different generations of the same family.
Cast and crew
Adhi wrote and directed the film, composed its music and plays the lead. Ketika Sharma plays Laila, the dance teacher Jeeva falls for, while Harshath Khan plays his friend. Chaithra J Achar, Ramya Ranganathan, Nassar, Karunas, Yogi Babu, Baba Baskar and Aadukalam Naren complete the main cast, as reported by Filmibeat.
The film is produced by Sundar C, Khushbu Sundar and ACS Arun Kumar under Avni Movies and Benzz Media, as reported by Filmibeat. Its songs, including Goindhamma, Aura 10/10 and Pappali Pazhamey, came out on Saregama Tamil.
Meesaya Murukku 2 opened in theatres on September 25, 2026. It follows the 2017 hit Meesaya Murukku but tells a fresh story with a new set of characters, as reported by Filmibeat, which calls it a spiritual successor. The Economic Times reported that it was a commercial success, particularly in Tamil Nadu, though reviews were mixed. The ETimes review gave it three out of five stars.
Why it matters for Kerala viewers
Gaana, the Chennai street music at the centre of the film, has a Malayalam connection this season. Sushin Shyam tried his hand at the form for Suriya in Scene's Aeroplane song, and the reported Malayalam audio track should make Adhi's take on the form easy to sample at home.
The film arrives on a busy streaming Friday. Dulquer Salmaan's I'm Game lands on JioHotstar the same day, and SonyLIV is also the next stop for the Saiju Kurup thriller Aaram.
