Pocket Novel, directed by Thiagarajan Kumararaja and led by Vijay Sethupathi with Malavika Mohanan, now has a theatrical date. Producer banner Tyler Durden And Kino Fist posted on X that the pages turn this Pongal, and the official posters mark a January 14 Pongal release.
Official date and the producer post
The November 6 post from @tylerdurdenand1 says the date is set for Thiagarajan Kumararaja's Pocket Novel and that pages are turning this Pongal. The two posters released with the post carry the line Jan. 14 Pongal Release in red script. The post tags Vijay Sethupathi, Malavika Mohanan, G V Prakash Kumar, Raj B Shetty, Kishore, Dhilip Subbarayan, Nirav Shah and Andrew Louis under the film hashtags.

Because the announcement landed on November 6, 2026, that Pongal window points to January 14, 2027. The posters themselves print January 14 without a year. We are not lining Pocket Novel up against other festive titles here, because those clash lists are not in the official post or on the poster art.
Sethupathi and Kumararaja after Super Deluxe
The clear career angle is the reunion. Vijay Sethupathi previously toplined Kumararaja's Super Deluxe in 2019. Pocket Novel brings them back together, with Malavika Mohanan billed alongside Sethupathi on the new posters. Super Deluxe also carried Nirav Shah among its cinematographers and Sathyaraj Natarajan as editor, names that return on Pocket Novel's credit block.
That continuity matters for readers who followed Kumararaja's earlier work. The new posters do not claim a film number for him, and we are not adding one. The supported fact is the Sethupathi reunion after Super Deluxe, plus the fresh lead billing for Malavika Mohanan on this title.
Fahadh Faasil, who co-starred in Super Deluxe, is currently on Netflix with Don't Trouble the Trouble. That is a separate streaming story from this theatrical date.
Cast and crew on the official posters
The billing block names Vijay Sethupathi, Raj B Shetty, Malavika Mohanan, Kishore and Dhilip Subbarayan. G V Prakash Kumar is credited for music. Nirav Shah is director of photography. Andrew Louis is credited for story and screenplay. Art direction is listed as V. Shanmugaraja. Costume design is credited to S.D. Ezhilmathy, who is also named with Thiagarajan Kumararaja as producer under the Tyler Durden And Kino Fist banner.
The posters also list Tamil, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada across the bottom strip. No Malayalam track is printed on the art we opened. Editing credit on the same block goes to Sathyaraj Natarajan.
January stays busy across South releases. Our November Malayalam releases guide tracks the current month at home, while OM is still aimed at November 20 worldwide and Scene is already in Kerala theatres from November 6.
